Question 1: What are five words that best describe you?

Disciplined, Reliable, Efficient, Strategic and Focused

Question 2: If you still remember, can you share the reason why you chose this company before?

A friend of mine recommended YTP to me. She mentioned that employees are taught Japanese because it's the language used in the workplace. Since I enjoy learning new languages, I found it interesting. At the time, I had just passed the licensure exam and was job hunting, so I submitted my application and was lucky enough to be hired.

Question 3: What are the things you like about working here?

I like the collaborative and supportive atmosphere in our department (Gaisou group).
Everyone is always willing to help one another, and I also value how the seniors are always ready to offer guidance whenever we face challenges.

Question 4: What does it mean for you to be a recipient of the Best Engineer award?

Receiving the Best Engineer Award is a truly motivating experience. It acknowledges the hard work, dedication, and effort I've put into my job, and it reminds me of the challenges I've successfully overcome. It also inspires me to keep improving, to prove that I deserve this award not only for 2024 but for many more years ahead.

Question 5: Did you expect to receive this award?

I was surprised and couldn't believe it because I didn't think it was already time for me to receive the award. I had only been with the company for 2.5 years, and I knew there were others equally deserving of the Best Engineer Award. Nonetheless, I am truly thankful and grateful to the leaders and seniors who recognized my efforts and considered me worthy of this award.

Question 6: Looking back at your first day working at YTP, did this award cross your mind?

To be honest, when I first started here, I was not aware that such an award even existed. From day one, my focus has always been on doing my best—not for recognition, but for my own personal growth and to contribute meaningfully to the team and the company. I believe that continuous improvement and dedication to the work are what truly matter, and any recognition that comes along the way is simply a nice affirmation of that commitment.

Question 7: How do you find your job?

Initially, it was definitely challenging due to the use of a different language. As we gain more experience, projects become more complex, but having supportive colleagues makes the work enjoyable, and completing challenging projects is incredibly rewarding.

Question 8: What's next for you? What are your plans?

My plan is to further improve my Japanese language skills.
I believe that a deeper understanding of the language will help reduce errors in my work, enhance communication with our Japanese clients, and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Question 9: Share some thoughts with aspiring engineers who want to follow in your footsteps.

My advice to aspiring engineers is to always embrace challenges, as they are key to personal and professional growth. While setbacks are inevitable, don’t be discouraged—each failure is an opportunity to learn and improve. It's also important to ask for help when needed, and equally, offer assistance to others. Collaboration is crucial, and being open to working with others while valuing their ideas and support creates a stronger, more effective team dynamic.

Question 10: Since you are working in a Japanese company, do you have any favorite Japanese words/phrases?

"猿も木から落ちる" translates to "Even monkeys fall from trees".
I read it on facebook sometime ago and it is a reminder that no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes no matter how skilled they are.
Errors are a natural part of learning and growth.

Question 11: If you could travel back in time, specifically on your first day of work here, what would you say to your younger self?

If I could travel back to my first day of work, I would tell my younger self to trust in who she is and stay true to herself. I’d remind her to maintain a positive attitude, put her best effort into everything, and embrace every learning opportunity. Challenges and moments of self-doubt will come, but they are the experiences that will shape her growth the most. I would encourage her to focus on continuous improvement and dedication, as recognition and success will naturally follow when she remains committed to her craft and strives to become the best version of herself.
