Question 2: If you still remember, can you share the reason why you chose this company before?

This work opportunity seemed like a perfect timing for me. During the pandemic, I faced difficulties finding a job, but then a great opportunity came my way. The nature of the work was intriguing and new, and I saw it as a chance to expand my career experience. At that moment, I believed it could offer valuable growth and help me develop new skills in a different field in engineering industry.

Question 3: What are the things you like about working here?

I really appreciate the continuous learning opportunities, especially the Japan training. It’s been an incredible experience to be exposed into the unique working styles and practices of Japan, which has broadened my perspective significantly.

Question 4: What does it mean for you to be a recipient of the Best Engineer award?

I believe this award is not just a recognition of my technical skills, but a reflection of my dedication to continuous improvement and my commitment to producing quality work. It’s a reminder of the effort I put into each project. I am truly grateful to my leaders, who have guided me, providing valuable mentorship and support.

Question 5: Did you expect to receive this award?

No, I did not expect to receive this award. In our team, everyone puts in their best effort to accomplish tasks and deliver quality projects, and I believe that each of us plays an essential role for the benefit of entire group.

Question 6: Looking back at your first day working at YTP, did this award cross your mind?

No, it did not cross my mind. On my first day at YTP, I was focused solely on learning and adapting quickly to my new working environment. Like many new
employees, I was still in the probation phase, getting familiar with the company culture and my tasks. Looking back, it’s rewarding to see how much I’ve grown, and being recognized for my efforts is an unexpected but humbling surprise.

Question 7: How do you find your job?

I consider my job a constant journey of learning. Each day, I come across new experiences that contribute to my growth in the company, especially now during the Japan Training. Yes, it’s challenging, enjoyable, tough, but fulfilling. We will encounter new challenges that will test our patience, skills, and knowledge. But at the end of the day, I still learn and feel a sense of relief when I finish my work and see the positive results.

Question 8: What's next for you? What are your plans?

I don’t have anything specific in mind yet, but I hope to apply all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained from my Japan training when I return to YTP. For now, my goal is to adapt quickly, put my learnings into practice.

Question 9: Share some thoughts with aspiring engineers who want to follow in your footsteps.

My advice would be to always put your best foot forward. Also, for me, there’s no such thing as ‘regret,’ only ‘lessons learned’. Every experience, whether good or bad, helps us grow. Keep learning, stay strong, and see every challenge as a chance to improve.

Question 10: Since you are working in a Japanese company, do you have any favorite Japanese words/phrases?

お疲れ様です。This phrase really has an impact—it’s commonly used to acknowledge someone’s hard work. It makes me feel that at the end of the day the effort I put in has been appreciated, and it marks the time to rest and relax after a productive day.

Question 11: If you could travel back in time, specifically on your first day of work here, what would you say to your younger self?

Always be motivated and humble.
