Question 1: What are five words that best describe you?

I describe myself as curious, adaptable, receptive, approachable, and dependable.

Question 2: If you still remember, can you share the reason why you chose this company before?

I started in the company as an intern for almost 6 months. When I graduated, I immediately chose YTP to start my career as a draftsman when I found the steel frame detailing work interesting and challenging.

Question 3: What are the things you like about working here?

My colleagues and seniors are supportive, kind, and approachable, which makes the environment enjoyable even with heavy workloads.

Question 4: What does it mean for you to be a recipient of the Best Engineer award?

Receiving this award means a lot to me, because it signifies that the company acknowledges my dedication and contributions to the group.

Question 5: Did you expect to receive this award?

To be honest, I did expect it, but not so soon. I believe that the effort I invested in fulfilling my responsibilities is worthy of acknowledgement, and I believe that should apply to all members of the team in the future.

Question 6: Looking back at your first day working at YTP, did this award cross your mind?

Looking back at my first day in the company, my primary focus is more on gaining experience and learning, and receiving this award wasn’t one of my goals at all.

Question 7: How do you find your job?

It was challenging. Our role is to assist in producing accurate and consistent drawings of easy and complex projects, which I think needs a lot of effort and patience for the team to submit the outputs in time.

Question 8: What's next for you? What are your plans?

I see myself in the future to be more capable and knowledgeable in the detailing work. As time goes by, I expect to gain more experience and learn things that will help me to do a better job and to be more efficient as a draftsman.

Question 9: Share some thoughts with aspiring engineers who want to follow in your footsteps.

To all aspiring draftsmen, all I can say is to be passionate, persevere, be open to ideas, and be creative. By making your best effort, you are already doing your part of making a meaningful impact towards the team.

Question 10: Since you are working in a Japanese company, do you have any favorite Japanese words/phrases?

 

Question 11: If you could travel back in time, specifically on your first day of work here, what would you say to your younger self?

If I could journey back to my first day at work, maybe I’ll advise myself that facing the challenges is part of the journey that I need to be more strong-willed and determined if I am to hone my potential.
