Question 1: Please tell something about your job

Technically speaking, YTP-Tekkotsu is the one in-charge of providing erection drawing plans for the client and Engineer on-site to build the structure. This department also provides the Factory Assembly Drawing and all necessary accessories involving heavy duty steel members. It is also Tekkotsu's duty to virtually erect the structure to foresee problems that may occur during the erection process and assembling in factory. In lay-man's term, Tekkotsu Department builds the skeleton of the structure and do the necessary adjustments to easily assemble the building.

Question 2: Why did you choose this company?

YTP is not your typical company. This is a young company that has a lot of challenges to offer which will shape you as a better person and engineer in your chosen field. Among those challenges are the language barrier, unfamiliar Building Codes and unconventional approach in dealing with engineering theory related problems. What I personally like the most is encountering site-related problems without requiring you to be present on-site.

Question 3: What are the challenge and fun for work?

You are dealing with Japanese standards, rules and drawing tools meaning everything would be in a foreign language some persons had never encountered before. Even communicating with your Japanese counterpart would be in their mother tongue but upon overcoming this language barriers, you will be amazed on how and why these rules and standards are made and being implemented in their country.

Question 4: How about work environment and workplace colleagues?

Majority of company's employees are composed of young and well-motivated engineers and architects. Therefore brain-storming and sharing of knowledge were heavily practiced in the environment. Everyone can share their insights and willing to learn. The bond, chemistry and friendships are easily developed within the workplace.

Question 5: Please tell us your plans for the future.

The management is now aggressively making the company bigger to catch up with the increasing demand of construction in Japan. I'm looking forward to continuously hone my skills at its peak and share this acquired knowledge with everyone either in and outside of the company.

Question 6: What is the attraction different from other companies? (If you have experience of another company)

In my humble opinion, if you're up for a challenge in your career, then this company can provide you the necessary challenges for your career development. You can also develop very good working ethics in this company. Employees are their main priorities for they are the only asset the company has, thus benefits are properly given and lastly the mother company has a 100year history in business therefore job security is not an issue. Not to mention having a lively and good colleagues to work with. If these points are not considerable for you to call it as a good company and put this into an advantage over the others, then please remember this saying "If you're working for a good company and you're happy there, and you're being compensated accordingly, and your work satisfies you, you should stay there."
